Exploring Boston During the LEAP HR: Life Sciences Conference

Attending the LEAP HR: Life Sciences conference on July 26-27 in Boston? Whether you’re arriving a day before, staying a date late, or aren’t too tired after Day 1 and Day 2 of the conference, take some time to explore the best of Boston with other HR professionals.

We’ve gathered some ideas for you:

1. Are you a wealth of endless, random facts? Trivia is taking Boston by storm and the options are limitless any day of the week. Check out Taproom Trivia at Somerville Brewing Company, Stump Trivia, Beer Garden Trivia Under the Stars and thinktank trivia. You can browse more here.

2. There’s also a range of music and concerts happening around town this week. The Cantab Lounge offers a Singer-Songwriter Open Mic night on Mondays, the best Bluegrass in the area on Tuesdays, Bob & the Beats 80s & 90s Jam on Wednesday, and classical soul and funk on Thursdays. The Landmarks Orchestra is playing on July 27 at the Hatch Shell, “Boston’s epicenter for large outdoor performances.”

3. If you’re up for an adventure, check out Boston’s moonlight kayak and canoe tours on the Charles River. The Improv Asylum, voted Boston’s best comedy, has shows every day of the week if you need a good laugh. If you do make it to a show, be sure to stop by the legendary Mike’s Pastry while in the North End. There’s also Kings Boston, a retro-inspired bowling ally (serving great food and drinks) for a bit of a throwback.

4. There are plenty of ways to take it easy during the week while still exploring Boston: The Boston Public Market, for example, is the perfect place to wander through over 40 vendors’ local products and specialty products. The Faneuil Hall Marketplace includes retail shopping, street performers and musicians, and a variety of dining experiences. And then there are the rooftop bars; enough said.

5. None of those sound appealing? Check out The Boston Calendar, Boston.com, or The City of Boston for more events happening in Boston during the week.

We hope you enjoy the city while you're in town and we will see you at the conference!
